Rought Cut 7
This video shows our opening with a dramatic change, the credits have changed as we redone then on LiveType, the title of the movie now appears clearer, and the soundtrack has changed to makes it easier to digest. One of the main problems with this version is that the audio report plays over the phone ringing, I think that even as this may happen in real life, leaving it like this would make is confusing for the audience, as there is already a lot happening in the opening sequence.
Rought Cut 6
This opening sequence now includes the title of the film, something that the other films did not include. This is very important as the name links to the film, and so the audience will be able to make this link throughout watching it.
Rought Cut 5
In this video more credits were added this was so it would match other opening sequences. The images of the senator are now extra close ups.
Rought Cut 4
This version of our opening sequence includes the soundtrack and also the credits. The soundtrack matches the video which is an improvement compared to ‘Rough cut 3’. These credits were made on IMovie, and we concluded not to have them, as they did not match the thriller genre. These credits were also to short, we found that more needed to be added in order to match other opening sequences. Another problem we found was that the colour of the text changed throughout the opening sequence, and this is not evident in other opening sequences.
Rought Cut 3
This video has the soundtrack added; one of the main problems with this video is that the music is not in sync with the video. Also that the news reporters talk over each other which would not happen in during a real radio broadcast. I changed the images of the senator to black and white, the main reason for this was so that it would match with the rest of the film. The images so now zoom in to the senator, which creates more tension. I have also zoomed into the papers on the desk, this is as a group we felt having the camera focused of just on table for 10 seconds would loose the audiences focus.
Rought Cut 2
In this video we have added still images of the senator in colour. The main reason for this was to introduce another character briefly into the opening sequence. I think that the main use of this is to add to the enigma.
Rought Cut 1
This rough cut is the first one I created; the video shows the opening sequence without any music or credits. From here we were able to see what needed to be added and when.
